Education and Vocational Certifications
Basic Rules:
Certification levels are sorted by series. In order to purchase certifications that are further down in the list, you must first purchase the ones above. You then choose a specific number of skills from a list. Each skill may only be chosen once per level.
Any character may separately purchase a point in any skill that he or she would have reason to possess; the cost, however, is higher than purchasing the equivalent certification.
Standard difficulty Target Number: 6. Each level increases TN by 1.
Certification Costs
Please note that costs are cumulative. Purchasing Level 2 Certification always means purchasing Level 1 first, for a total cost of 6 points.
Level 1 - 2 of 3 - 2 points
Level 2 - 3 of 4 - 4 points
Level 3 - 3 of 5 - 8 points
Level 4 - 4 of 6 - 14 points
A La Carte Skills
Purchasing a skill directly is expensive, but has no prerequisite. Please note that purchasing a skill at level 3 from nothing means purchasing it at level 1, then 2, then 3, effectively paying 7 points total unless the skill reached level 1 or 2 through certification blocks.
A La Carte Skills must be purchased after Certification: it is not feasible to purchase level 1 in a skill, then use level 1 certification to boost the skill to level 2.
Cost:
Lv. 1 - 1 point
Lv. 2 - 2 points
Lv. 3 - 4 points
Lv. 4 - 8 points
Lv. 5 - 14 points
