Biography:

When she was but three years old, little Anim Anthrofox Summer Jamison sat in her sunsoaked back yard and stared raptly up into the clear blue sky.

"Whatcha looking at, hon?” her mother asked.

"'S gonna rain,” said Summer, and before the puzzled elder fox could point out how silly this statement seemed, it came true. Clouds rolled in with startling rapidity, the sky darkened, and a thunderstorm started dumping water and electricity onto the block before Mrs. Jamison could even snatch up her daughter to head inside.

Suffice to say, Summer grew up one of the “different” kids. Her power to control the weather grew only more pronounced, sometimes uncontrollably, manifesting sympathetically with her emotions: a cheerful fox produced sunny days, while humiliation or grief brought rainclouds to keep her company. Unfortunately, the latter situation proved the more common. Taciturn by nature, and shunned by her peers for her weirdness, she went through school--elementary, high school, college--socially starved. She dabbled in many solitary pursuits, but never found anything that could settle her disquiet.

Out of college, Summer took up work at a pawn shop (not doing the haggling part of the job, of course, but tending the stock and so forth). While there, she met Jeff Danival, who was selling burgers at a cheap restaurant she sometimes frequented on her lunch breaks. She witnessed him at his most vulnerable, and in a moment of empathy found courage enough to befriend him. He in turn found her shy innocence and undemanding attentions alluring, and the friendship turned into a relationship. He romanced her in his savage way, which Summer, surprisingly or no, took rather well to. She took him into her apartment as a lover, relieving him of the burden of keeping his own place.

As it turned out, however, commitment to Jeff meant more than expected. Enemies from his checkered past tracked him to Summer's home and left death threats. He was prepared to leave for her sake, but lovestruck Summer would hear no plan that would separate them. They were preparing to flee together--to where, they had no idea--when Werejackal showed up to recruit them into the Howling Fangs. Stunned and puzzled by the charismatic newcomer and her knowledge of their powers (Summer hadn't used hers overtly in years) but desperately hopeful, they agreed, and the threats immediately ceased.

Summer, or “Stormfox,” now leads a shadier life even than falling in with an ex-athlete criminal kneecapper. She uses her pawn shop position to acquire or fence items that Werejackal's mysterious plans bring the Fangs into contact with, and helps cloak operations and getaways using her powers. Under duress, she can even down an assailant by calling down a lightning bolt, but she hates doing it, and in fact does her best to stay out of the more violent aspects of the Fangs' activities. Unlike the others, she doesn't even bear any particular animosity toward cats.
