Physical Description: Canis and Lupus are hulking Anim timber wolves, Canis having a noticeably lighter shade of grey fur. Both have eyes that shine eerily: Canis yellow, Lupus red.

Biography:
A summer ago, the NVPD and local animal-control agencies were baffled by a series of savage animal attacks in the north quarter of the city. The attacks were highly random, seemingly motiveless, and witnesses or survivors could not even describe the creatures. The wounds were clearly predator bites, but reports mentioned only “blurry shapes,” “pinpoints of light,” “like being hit by a truck,” and other frustratingly vague details. Terror mounted in the city as newspapers cried dire reports and issued new warnings each day.
Finally, a trap devised by none other than New Valhalla Chief of Police Sabrina Eis succeeded in catching the culprits. The two Anim wolves were caged, stunned, and impounded, to undergo a brief period of study before being put down as threats to public safety. They were a mated hunting pair, come down from woodlands far to the north, seeking exotic hunting grounds in the city. Why? Because they could, it seemed: the two had super powers, the male with the power to turn invisible except for his eyes, the female with the ability to run at incredible speed. It was a fascinating case, but one that had to be concluded swiftly to prevent further danger to society.
Before the two were to be put to sleep ("executed,” perhaps), however, someone broke into their compound and freed the two wolves. The liberators were Werejackal, Wolfmage, and Stormfox, who took the pair out into the New Valhalla night. Rather than set them free to wreak more havoc, however, Werejackal took them into hiding, fed them, and trained them to be her own personal attack dogs. With her ability to take wereform and speak to them in more detail than possible with English commands, they became more than pets or tools: they were allies. Their addition to the group made them, truly, the Howling Fangs.
Canis and Lupus, as Werejackal named them (Canis is the female, the runner), are fiercely devoted to each other and to the rest of the Howling Fangs. They fight with coordination and savagery, but not, thanks to Jackal's training, with reckless abandon. Theirs are always hit-and-run tactics, using their powers to fullest effect. It is a rare thing indeed for their prey, be it the night's meal or a mark Werejackal has set them upon, to escape unharmed.
