Guild and Society Membership

Your character may be a member of a Guild or Society, secret or otherwise. New Washington is a very large city with a massive population; any interesting enough premise could possibly be inspiration for a Guild or Society.

Societies are generally for those who champion a cause or share an ideology. Various human and elven supremacy groups have gained the ire of many people, but remain strong to this day. The anticorporate movement frequently organizes through societies.

Guilds are generally more focused on a trade or skill; fighting styles will frequently form guilds to represent their growth and maintenance. The Honorable Academy of Corporate Knighthood is technically a martial guild.

Mind you, the line between Guilds and Societies frequently blurs, as there is no official designation between them. The Regulars' Guild is in form more a society than a guild, but it bears the name 'Guild' and nobody really takes issue with that. Not that they'd know whom to take it up with.

If your character might join a guild, you can work with your storyteller to determine one.

If you are doing a Step by Step character creation, you can move on to Personal Life or go back to Financial and Social Standing.
