Example

Here is where we describe the basic theme and function of the class. Classes in Gamma World are divided into ten levels, so all class features often reference how quickly they accumulate over the ten class levels.

Hit Die: d8 (This is the die rolled to determine how many hitpoints the character gains each level. It's usually between d4 to d12)

Class skills: Here we list the class's skills and the key abilities for each skill:
Appraise (Int), Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Any) (Int).

Skill Points at 1st Level: (4 + Int modifier)x4. (This is how many points a character who starts as this class can spend on their skills. It is always four times the amount they would normally recieve in later levels. Base skill point numbers vary from 2 to 8.)

Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Base Attack Bonus: 3/4 <= This is the rate at which a character's ability to hit a target improves.
All character classes are assumed to be improving at either a full (1/1), three-quarters (3/4), or half (1/2) rate. Base Attack Bonus is always rounded down and so looks like this over ten levels:

Lvl Full . 3/4 ... Half
1 ... +1 ... +0 ... +0
2 ... +2 ... +1 ... +1
3 ... +3 ... +2 ... +1
4 ... +4 ... +3 ... +2
5 ... +5 ... +3 ... +2
6 ... +6 ... +4 ... +3
7 ... +7 ... +5 ... +3
8 ... +8 ... +6 ... +4
9 ... +9 ... +6 ... +4
10 .+10 .. +7 ... +5

Characters can perform extra attacks in a round once their Base Attack Bonus reaches +6, +11, and +16.

Fortitude Save: Good (This is bonus the class provides to resisting physical effects)
Reflex Save: Poor (This is the bonus the class provides to evading traps and sudden danger)
Will Save: Good (This is the bonus the class provides to resisting mental effects)

Saves are divided into good and poor. Good saves start with a slight bonus and increase at a rate of one half the class level. Poor saves start with no bonus and increase at only one third class level. Good and poor saves are rounded down and look like this over ten levels:

Lvl . Poor . Good
1 ... +0 ... +1
2 ... +0 ... +2
3 ... +1 ... +2
4 ... +1 ... +3
5 ... +1 ... +3
6 ... +2 ... +4
7 ... +2 ... +4
8 ... +2 ... +5
9 ... +3 ... +5
10 . +3 ... +6

Defense: Medium
This is the rate of bonus to Armor class the class provides over levels. Defense is rated Poor, Medium, or Good. Poor increases at a rate of 1/3, Medium increases at a rate of 1/2 of class level, and Good increases at a rate of 3/4 with a starting bonus.

Lvl . Poor . Med . Good
1 ... +0 ... +0 ... +1
2 ... +0 ... +1 ... +2
3 ... +1 ... +1 ... +3
4 ... +1 ... +2 ... +4
5 ... +1 ... +2 ... +4
6 ... +2 ... +3 ... +5
7 ... +2 ... +3 ... +6
8 ... +2 ... +4 ... +7
9 ... +3 ... +4 ... +7
10 . +3 ... +5 ... +8
