All Dragons are a proud, ancient race. The Western ones are typically reptilian in appearance and a little over the size of a midsized house. Dragons have a peculiar type of magic that allows them to craft crystalline bodies that they inhabit to function in a society with humans; those who do so can appear at will as a normal-sized person of unusual strength and ability.
Western Dragons do not have a cohesive society; they are loners. They were forced to band together for the conflict known as the European Dragon War, but their hubris served them poorly and they were summarily routed by the forces of the European Union. Most Western Dragons now live in the Americas, and a few hundred make New Washington their home.
