The purpose of each of the 6 main stats has been messed with for game balance:
- STR: Melee strength, of course. Affects chance to hit and damage amount.
- CON: Sturdiness. Doesnt affect HP at present. Affects all saving throws.
- DEX: Mobility. Affects theivery skills and AC, I believe. Missile weapons too. Also will affect general purpose abilities (cook, climb, etc.)
- INT: Ability to *understand*, smartness. Affects learning and mage spells.
- WIS: *Mental strength*. Affects resistance to spells, casting priest spells.
- CHA: Appearance. Affects abillity to charm. Will be made VERY important to theivery skills (the ability to be ignored, and the ability to manipulate).
- LCK: Affects random number gens, duh. I don't like this one because it seems to have very little role-playing purpose. I'm considering yanking it.
Permanent stat is only used instead of current in determining learning experience. Mages shouldn't get doubly rewarded just because they can pump up their stats at will. They already get INT bonuses, and that might be a little too much already.
