Finally!
So here's what happened: a few days ago I finally drew a picture I liked of Liesel.
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Liesel Cutler is the main character of a comic strip that I'm currently trying to get up the gumption to put together. It'll be called Walking Backward, and it'll hopefully be a funny but very story-driven comic starring the girl to the left of this text. Liesel herself is a freshman at a liberal arts college functionally identical to mine (^_^`), a techie, and a really good singer/actress waiting to be discovered. More on this later if I put up more Liesel sketches.
After I finished drawing this, I realized that I was really happy with it. It looked like Liesel. It really fit what I expected her to be, and it made me pretty happy. I knew that I didn't want Liesel to be detailed, or gorgeous, or even very well-drawn. I wanted Liesel to be easy to draw, mainly, since starting the comic would mean that I would have to draw her several times a week. But more importantly, she had to be distinctive. Liesel is curvy, and short, and simple, and pretty.
Maybe I'm lauding myself a bit much, but although this picture isn't perfect, it gets all of those elements right in line.
This picture is Liesel, the way I wanted her to be. What do you guys think?

For those of you who can get ahold of it, the unofficial Walking Backwards theme song is I Can See it In Your Eyes by Alice Deejay. For those of you who can't, IM me and I'll get it to you after my show opens. ~~Dog
She's so adorable!!! I really like the design. Very cool. Getting a comic up is really hard work, but once you actually get started it kinda keeps rolling. I look forward to seeing it ~Za
Heh, something about the picture (overalls, etc.), and your description of her minus a few details, reminds me a lot of Rabite. ~SabreCat
There's something to that... kind of a cross between Rabite and Koala, but with red hair. And oddly enough, I created Liesel before I met either of them... (dun dun dunnn) ~~Dog
