Every Doll has a “dance", a method of fighting where its limbs can move seemingly of their own accord and at inhuman speed. This fighting technique allows Dolls to take multiple actions in a single round, much as Garou do. The difference is that the Doll will spend a set amount of Harmony to gain a set number of extra actions.
Each dance has the following attributes: Extra Actions (Act), Harmony Cost (Har), Maximum Simultaneous (Max), and Duration (Dur).
Extra Actions are marked for how many equivalent “Dance” actions (equivalent to Rage actions) a Doll gains in a Round. If this number is '1', the Doll gets a regular action and one Dance action.
Harmony Cost is how much Harmony a Doll must spend to gain these extra actions.
Maximum Simultaneous signifies how many times the Doll may spend the Dance's Harmony Cost to “stack” on more extra actions. If this number is '1', then the Doll must wait until the dance has ended to begin it anew. If the number is '2', the Doll may gain twice as many Dance actions as noted by simply spending twice as much Harmony. So on and so forth.
Duration is how long the extra actions last before the Doll must spend more Harmony to continue it.
NOTE ON DANCES: a Doll may “prepare” a dance before using it; it will assume the beginning stance and hold it until it executes its first action. The doll may move during this time, but only slowly and awkwardly.
- Irish Step - Piano Legato
- Appearance:
- The simplest dance. The Doll rises into the air and remains there, back and neck straight. Its limbs move independently of its body, and the Doll seems to exert no effort whatsoever to perform multiple actions with different limbs.
- Usable by Ionian and Aeolian Dolls
- Act: 2 Har: 2 Max: 1 Dur: 2
- Rave - Legato Allegro
- Appearance:
- The Doll slumps at the waist and then rises into the air. Without looking at any opponent, the Doll may begin a series of whirling gestures to strike and defend, flipping its body effortlessly through the air in deadly arcs of force.
- Usable by Ionian and Dorian Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 2 Max: 2 Dur: 3
- Lindy Hop - Piano Allegro
- Appearance:
- A very aerial form of Dance, the Lindy Hop is also one of the fastest. It begins with a standard float (as Irish Step), but when it begins to move, there are a great deal of spins and 'leaps' that send the Doll over and under opponents, performing the acrobatics that lent this Dance its name.
- Usable by Ionian and Lydian Dolls
- Act: 4 Har: 3 Max: 1 Dur: 1
- Waltz - Legato Adagio
- Appearance:
- A Doll using Waltz can maintain its Dance for up to 30 rounds, if it has enough Harmony. This long-lasting but less effective Dance is a favorite of defensive Dolls, and is quite elegant. The Dance begins as Irish Step, and the Doll moves with deceptively slow, graceful techniques. Waltz lacks the inhuman speed of other dances, but allows the Doll the mental faculties to perform two actions in a single turn through sheer fluid grace and anticipation.
- Usable by Aeolian and Mixolydian Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 2 Max: 1 Dur: 6
- Danse Macabre - Piano Adagio
- Appearance:
- The Danse Macabre begins with a slump as Rave, but proceeds in a much more disturbing fashion. The Doll's head never raises, and his face remains blank and facing the floor throughout the entire Dance. His limbs move fluidly and quickly, and the Danse Macabre is typically associated with cruel and torturous Dolls, as it is designed with predatory movement in mind. The Danse Marabre is also easy to maintain and is second-only to Waltz in duration.
- Usable by Aeolian and Locrian Pianissimo Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 3 Max: 2 Dur: 5
- Zombie - Piano Staccato
- Appearance:
- The Zombie Dance is perhaps the most versatile Dance of any, as it is inexpensive but capable of cramming a record 6 extra actions into a single round. It is a tie for the fastest Dance. The Doll floats at the beginning of this dance, as Irish Step, but his head lolls for its entirety as in Danse Macabre. The movements for this Dance are extremely jerky and stiff, and there is no fluid movement at all. By contrast, its movement is so fast as to be nearly undetectable.
- Usable by Lydian and Locrian Pianissimo Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 1 Max: 6 Dur: 5
- Tap - Staccato Allegro
- Appearance:
- Tap is another extremely quick Dance, approaching Salsa in its form. It looks very much like Irish Step, but its movements are less rigid and more speedy.
- Usable by Lydian and Phrygian Dolls
- Act: 2 Har: 2 Max: 2 Dur: 1
- Rhumba - Forte Legato
- Appearance:
- Rhumba is a deliberate, slow Dance punctuated by periods of very fast movement and then slow movement again, beginning as Irish Step. Though it is not terribly practical for frequent use because of its cost, it is excellent for unexpected, all-out assaults because of its high Max value.
- Usable by Mixolydian and Dorian Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 2 Max: 4 Dur: 2
- Strut - Forte Adagio
- Appearance:
- Strut can be a very frightening dance. The Doll's head lolls to the side, but its eyes stare straight forward, creating a very frightening image for the target. Struts are typically characterized by slow approaches followed by forceful attacks. Because it is as inexpensive as the Waltz, Dolls using it will keep it going for quite a while.
- Usable by Mixolydian and Locrian Fortissimo Dolls
- Act: 1 Har: 1 Max: 1 Dur: 3
- Salsa - Forte Allegro
- Appearance:
- Salsa is characterized by its separation between lower body and upper body, as the halves seem to fight as two different individuals. This can make for an extremely unnerving scene and is one of the most dangerous Dances to face. It stands with the Zombie in a tie for the fastest Dance.
- Usable by Dorian and Phrygian Dolls
- Act: 3 Har: 3 Max: 2 Dur: 1
- Flamenco - Forte Staccato
- Appearance:
- Dolls using Flamenco present an eerie sight as they float into the air, letting their back arch as they rise and letting their arms and head dangle backward. They do not move their limbs as they float until they attack, at which point their attacks are quick and forceful. Flamenco balances speed with duration, making for a relatively good investment of Harmony.
- Usable by Phrygian and Locrian Fortissimo Dolls
- Act: 3 Har: 4 Max: 1 Dur: 2
- Buto - Staccato Adagio
- Appearance:
- Buto is the most bizarre Dance of all, and indicative of the madness that the Locrian Dolls inherit. The Doll falls to the ground, and then is hoisted up by two limbs to hang in the air, undignified, until spurred into action. Buto is a savage Dance and an expensive one; it cannot be used often but is extremely effective when used. The three rounds during which it lasts should be more than enough to decimate most opponents in an erratic and disturbing fashion.
- Usable by the Locrian Dolls
- Act: 4 Har: 5 Max: 1 Dur: 3
