Dolls are extremely difficult to get rid of. If one is chasing a target, very little can shake it from its task. There are ways to slow Dolls down, but attempting to fight one without knowledge of its strengths and weaknesses is foolish.

Dolls are extremely resilient and regenerative. Guns and other piercing weapons do bashing damage to them, and they do not fall unconscious at the “Incapacitated” health level-- their bashing damage simply begins converting to lethal until they have “died".
Bashing damage does not confer wound penalties to Dolls. Their penalties for lethal and aggravated damage are OK, OK, -1, -1, -3, Dead.

Dolls convert lethal and aggravated damage to bashing and then heal it.
It takes 5 minutes to convert a level of lethal damage to bashing, and then 1 minute to heal a level of bashing damage. Aggravated damage takes a full hour to convert to bashing damage.

Note: a Doll may “remember” its damage away but not heal it immediately; this can be useful in situations where a Doll's corpse is watched. The player marks down how much damage would be healed, but the Doll does not heal it until the player decides. At this point, all of the damage that the doll “forgot” will vanish and the doll will heal immediately. A Doll cannot “save” regeneration-- it may only forget damage that it has already received.

When a Doll “dies", its souls must remember what their body's state was and restore it. Depending on the state of its body, it may take longer to “remember” and restore. Here are some situations and their recovery time:

So does all externally-applied lethal damage (as lethal damage is mostly defined as piercing trauma as opposed to blunt-force trauma) convert to bashing damage? I feel like it would streamline combat and make the storyteller's life easier to just consider all non-aggravated damage as bashing, and allow exceptions, rather than having to qualify every source of lethal damage as being converted or not. I like this, by the way, it makes dolls tough in a very different way than a vampire or a werewolf is tough. Other questions: what causes aggravated damage to a doll? Fire? Werewolf claws? Are there any sources of aggravated damage that dolls can convert to bashing/lethal? ~Mysterio

I think you misunderstand a bit; Dolls convert damage to bashing from lethal and aggravated, but it takes time. Piercing damage, which is lethal to humans, is bashing to Dolls. “Piercing” damage is, honestly, pretty specific in the WoD-- guns do it and little else. Supernatural claws and teeth do agg, swords do lethal, fire does agg. The only real exception here is that guns do bashing, which I believe is the same for vampires. ~~Dog

I see what you're saying. In a world where there are creatures that have vital organs that are, in fact, not at all vital, one must make a distinction between piercing and, say, cutting damage or tearing damage. A low-caliber bullet does only bashing damage to vampires, and Dolls are the same way. ~~Dog
