The history of Varius features the machinations of impersonal powers such as the Snowstorm, huge influential organizations like the Corporations that give the present Age its name, and powerful figures whose names shine through time as legend. But the magic and heroism that occur daily, at a smaller scale, on the streets of New Washington or in the twists of the Labyrinth often make the most memorable stories. These are the personalities whose tales those are: adventurers, freedom fighters, and the uncommon common folk sometimes forgotten by history, but without whom the Age of Corporations would bear no spark.
